In Every Season

November 5, 2026November 5, 2026 by Breathing Space Coventry

This month we are continuing our creative journey as we have a special retreat day where we will be making our own hand made books with Sue Ashby. On Friday 13th November, from 10am – 4pm we will create and think about the story of our lives, reflect on the current season we are in and how the pages of our lives though once may have spoken a different story, through transformation can now speak a new narrative. If you are interested to join us or in more of our creative retreat days please contact us

Luke 13:18-21

[Jesus] said therefore, ‘What is the kingdom of God like? And to what should I compare it? It is like a mustard seed that someone took and sowed in the garden; it grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air made nests in its branches.’

And again he said, ‘To what should I compare the kingdom of God? It is like yeast that a woman took and mixed in with three measures of flour until all of it was leavened.’

The beauty of Autumn brings such vivid colours into the garden at Breathing Space, the yellow golden Robinia and breathtaking Red Acer along with the large Crimson Grapevine leaves shine out like a beacon of hope in the fading scene around them.

As the nights draw in and a chill fills the air – inside the house the fragrance of baked bread permeates the rooms and the simplicity of truth speaks and shows us that the hidden things, like yeast and seeds – in their own time will grow and rise.

Fresh bread out of the oven strengthens us and the hopes for spring in the garden are discussed, The leaves rain down and nestle in the earth – and we remember that this too serves a purpose – nutrician for the soil and goodness feeds the soil as we plant for the future season of Spring –

These things will take time – but now is the season to act, and sow in faith, so that as the days lengthen and future hope dawns, new life will spring and bud forth and beauty will appear on the earth.

In the garden of our lives – what needs to be planted now that our future days may harvest goodness?

In every season of life…. there is a promise that Emmanuel (God is with us) night or day, summer or winter, springtime or harvest.

You are welcome here, to take some time to step aside, in the beauty of the garden or the quiet of the house to pause and rest awhile in the quiet haven of Breathing Space.

Open to anyone, individuals or small groups looking for a space to breathe, a day retreat, a creative workshop, or simply solitude and sacred space for prayer.

We are open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday – please contact us to book your space.
